A NEW HOME FOR AN OLD FAVORITE
Bring your PS2 discs into the browser. Compile them locally, load your files, and pick up the controller.
Your files stay on your device.
THE STARTING LINEUP
These games have been demonstrated by the engine’s creator. Bring your matching disc and compiled build to try them here.

YOUR PERSONAL CONSOLE
Select the files you compiled, then the same disc image used for that build.
Select ps2web.html, .js, .wasm and .data together.
Your original .iso file. Read locally, never uploaded.
Select both files above to prepare your session.
Need a build? Start with the compiler below. Only load builds you created or trust.
Keep this page open. Use the build’s Start button to begin, and export your memory card before leaving.
FROM DISC TO BROWSER
The open-source toolchain turns your game’s executable into WebAssembly. This helper prepares the commands; the compilation runs on your computer.
Windows uses a Linux environment such as WSL2. On macOS, use Homebrew’s Bash 4+.
Install Git, CMake, Ninja, Python 3 and a C++20 compiler. The upstream build installs Emscripten on its first run and downloads wgpu-native. Allow space for the disc and generated builds.
The helper pins upstream revision f3a550b for reproducibility. New games may hit unimplemented features; successful compilation alone does not guarantee playability.
A DIFFERENT KIND OF REPLAY
Start with an ISO you are entitled to use. The launcher includes no games, BIOS files or game downloads.
Run the helper with your disc path. The upstream tools produce a game-specific HTML, JavaScript, Wasm and data bundle.
Select your build files and the matching ISO above. Your computer does the work; the launcher reads disc data as needed.
No. Each game must be recompiled first with the upstream toolchain. Gran Turismo 4 and God of War II are upstream demonstrations; other games may encounter missing runtime features. Even a demonstrated title can behave differently across disc versions and devices.
No. The PS2 Web Recomp engine is open source. The games are commercial titles and are not included here. Their compiled code remains game-derived content. Use your own files privately; see the upstream publishing guidance.
The launcher keeps references to selected files for this tab’s session and does not upload them. Reloading requires selecting them again. The upstream build stores its memory card in this browser’s storage for this website. Use its Export card button to back up saves before clearing browser data or changing browsers. Imported builds execute code, so use builds you created or trust.
Use a current desktop Chrome or Edge, then run the browser check above. The player needs cross-origin isolation, WebAssembly JSPI, exception handling, tail calls and SIMD. WebGPU is strongly recommended for 3D gameplay. Support depends on your browser, operating system and GPU.
Click inside the game first. These are the upstream defaults; gamepads are handled by the build.
